Choosing caps for live embroidery: 112 vs. Flexfit
Blank choice makes or breaks the stitch.

Why the blank matters more than you would think
A hat bar lives or dies on the cap you hand guests. Structured caps hold an embroidered logo crisp and flat; unstructured or ultra-soft caps can let the stitch sink or ripple. Two blanks come up constantly at our stations, and they suit different crowds.
The Richardson 112
The 112 is a structured trucker with a foam front panel and mesh back, the default for a reason. That firm front panel is a dream for embroidery: the design sits proud and reads sharp. It is the adjustable-snapback crowd-pleaser that fits nearly everyone, which is exactly what you want when guests self-select at a hat bar.
Flexfit
Flexfit caps are fitted and stretchy for a sleeker, athletic look. They embroider well on the structured styles, and guests love the tailored fit, but because they are sized (S/M, L/XL) rather than one-size-adjustable, you carry more inventory to cover a crowd. Great for a curated activation, more planning for a big open line.
How to decide
Open, high-volume events with unknown head sizes: lean Richardson 112 for the adjustable fit and forgiving embroidery. Premium, curated activations where the look is everything: mix in Flexfit. Either way, bring us the cap early so we can test the digitized logo on the actual blank before your guests do.
